Women's Ministries

The open heart symbolizes women's inherent openness to the challenge of human needs. As the words Women's Ministries flow from the emblem, so love and compassion flow from the heart of women. Women's Ministries is made up of women who care about the needs of the world.

Our Women’s Ministries group usually meets the first Thursday night of the month at 7:00 p.m.  We have fellowship and refreshments followed by a time of testimonies or a special speaker.  We always try to conclude our meeting with a time of prayer.  PTL for intercessory prayer!

Our focus is our MISSIONARIES!  We collect/raise money for the missionaries to purchase new appliances and linens before they return to the mission field.  Locally, we also provide financial support for the Cumberland Crisis Pregnancy Center.

Come join us for food, fellowship, and fun—natural and spiritual.

In Christ,

Carol Pickle

History:

Eleven years after the Assemblies of God began, Women’s Ministries was formed.  Mrs. Etta Calhoun organized a group of women for intercessory prayer in Houston, Texas, in 1925.  Soon the women caught a vision for the practical ministry as well.

This group of women became the first Women’s Missionary Council.  At the 1975 General Council in Denver, Colorado, the Women’s Missionary Council was changed to Women’s Ministries.
